Motivational talks

Kev's work

"I owe my life to the community and whatever I can do is insignificant compared with that but I’m very glad that I’m now in a position to be able to give something back. In just one year after overcoming my £300-a-day heroin addiction I went on to do many worthwhile and rewarding things."

Kevin Johnston

Kev is available for

  • motivational speaking to schools and other youth groups
  • counselling
  • Training of staff involved with drug offender's rehabilitation

Kev's credentials

Speaking to youth groups - In another talk, this time to young people aged between 9 and 15 at Clayfields house (Nottingham Secure unit), Kev explained how drugs destroy lives. He has also given talks to local secondary schools (see testimonials).

Counselling - completed a training course.

Staff training - presentation on Team Leader training course for Prince’s Trust volunteers held at the Glen Parva young offenders’ institution. Also helped the Board of Visitors understand how they could help drug addicts in prison.

Speaking from a position of authority - More than one hundred magistrates attended two talks that Kev gave at the Magistrates Court. They greatly welcomed the opportunity to ask questions and the response was very favourable. Also, Kev addressed the audience at the Smart Justice Launch with the aim of helping people to realise that prison is not always the best way forward for rehabilitation. At a meeting of Business in the Community for London businesses, his presentation endeavoured to convince business men and women to give people like Kev a second chance. Kev has also discussed Government anti-drugs policy with Tony Blair and spoken with Prince Charles.

Finalist on the Pride of Britain award TV show.
